DS has congestion, runny nose, and sneezing

(Sorry for format; bumping from phone.) Starting last night, DS has had a runny nose (clear fluid) and is sneezing more than usual. He can breathe through his nose but he sounds congested. DH says that as long as the fluid stays clear he's ok. Do you think it warrants a trip to the pedi? He seems fine in all other ways: no temp, giggling, sleeping and eating normally.

    No.  Unless he isn't eating, peeing, or has a super high fever.  Just keep him comfy, suction, and try taking a hot shower with him in his bouncy in the bathroom.  DD#2 has one right now too :(

    I've got the same thing and I've passed it along to LO. 

    In the hand out I have from our pedi on when to call if there is a change in appetite (refusing several feedings in one day), decrease in wet/dirty diapers, congestion that interferes with breathing or last longer than a week without improvement, or a persistent cough.

    Ok, thanks. That's what I was thinking, but it's the first time he's had this, so I wanted to ask around. Sorry your DD has one too.

    DD is just getting over the same thing.  Another to add to the suggestions is nose drops.  They seem to loosen everything up so you can suck it out better.  Also prop up the crib mattress a little.

    My pedi has recommended (when LO had this issue) to elevate the head of the crib (I put a folded blanket under the head of the mattress) and use a humidifier.
