The thought of eating anything processed makes me want to
. I only want fresh fruits and veggies but what else should I eat? I can't think of anything and doubt I am getting any sort of reasonable calorie intake at this point. Other then salads and fruit got any ideas?
Re: Can't eat processed food...
Hmmm, yogurt maybe, the rest I wouldn't be able to stomach. Thanks for the suggestions!
I'm having the opposite problem. The only food that sounds tolerable is junk.
Peanut butter, a higher calorie granola bar like a cliff bar, add some nuts or avacado to your salad.
Ha, ha I previously was a junk food aholic. Thats why I am running out of ideas. I may take a trip to an organic market and see what is appealing. I will probably stock up on some nuts, thats a good idea for extra calories/protein.
I make trail mix with granola, nuts and dried fruit. I'm not in the mood for much processed either, which is good for the baby, but I wish I could just crave some sugar once in awhile because I miss sweets.
I'm eating a lot of hummus lately with veggies--I like the roasted pepper kind.
Smoothies have been good for me too---I like peaches and strawberries
Good luck!
I have the exact opposite problem. Vegetables sound awful. I forced myself to pack a salad for lunch today but there's a good chance that it will go uneaten.
For protein, you could try adding edamame to your salads or roast to snack on. Lentils sprinkled on your salads would be a good protein source as well.
Hi,
Like many others, I am having the exact opposite problem - I envy you! I was eating nearly raw/vegan before I got pregnant and the past week I've been adding bread and some dairy back in because I'm just going CRAZY with cravings (and aversions to veggies). But there are a lot of great veggie smoothies, as one pp already wrote. I had fresh pineapple, cilantro, parsley and kale for breakfast today and then a handful of almonds for protein. You can also add avocado for some substance and protein powder (check the ingredients or with your OB). Soup is also a good veggie recipe and you can use chicken stock and/or beans for protein. Lots of great recipes out there. Alicia Silverstone is a vegan and has a whole section on her blog about eating vegan during pregnancy. One last idea and then I'll shut up! I like making a puree of veggies (broccoli is my fave) by just steaming and then using a stick blender and then pouring that over some brown rice (and again add nuts or beans for protein. Hummus is also one of my big go-to's.
Okay, enough outta me! Let me know what you come up with.
