We're expecting our babies in February, but DH still doesn't want to talk names. He hasn't had any interest in going through the name book we have, and when I gave him a list of names I had made, he didn't like any and said that a lot of them were too hard to pronounce. He made a big deal out of not being able to read them if they were on a roster. (We're both teachers). I don't really think I picked odd names, and of course since we've been teaching for 8 years (him) and 7 (me) we have negative associations with a lot of common names.
Here are some of my favorite combos so far:

Are these really that odd? Since he doesn't really seem to like any of them, do you have other suggestions? For the record, he's been great about the pregnancy so far... he's just being REALLY weird about names. I don't know why. Pretty soon I'm just going to start calling them something and see what he says...
Re: Need boy/girl twin name help
Well, he does. He teaches physics and went to a top university. I think he is just trying to come up with excuses.... we both certainly have students with names more out there than these that we both read and pronounce. I think his point is that he wants only very common names. I don't know. I'm just looking for more possible combos, and giving an idea of what I like. Is there some reason men are reluctant to pick names that I'm not aware of?
The only name he has mentioned is Jack. Unfortunately, I had a student with that name last year and just can't get past what it reminds me of. Plus, it's really popular. I did give him a longer list of names (about 12 girls and 12 boys) and to be fair, the couple of names he claimed he couldn't say were on that list and not on the list of my favorites I posted above. I have gone through my name book twice and can't find any others to add.... which is why I'm here!
I like the idea of setting up a time to talk about names. I have to do this with DH on some issues.
By the way, my favorites are Evelyn and Grant. I love these names!
My favorite combo out of your list is Evelyn and Grant. If it were me I would definitely try to sit down with him to find out why he isn't willing to discuss names at all. I second PPs about giving him a large list of your favorites and asking him to rank/veto, or ask him to come up with a list of his favorites.
ETA: I'm kind of curious to know what the names were that he said would be hard to pronounce--especially given that the other names you listed aren't confusing at all.
Evelyn and Grant are my favorites on your list as well. Not just as a pair but also as individual names. Grant was #3 on our list when we had our son. On paper, Evelyn didn't appeal to me too much this time around (we are having a girl) but then I heard it on a little girl at the park this summer and it sounded really cute and it is also a name that ages well.
My favorite combo is Gretchen and Simon. So cute!!
And if he can't read/pronounce those, he needs to go back to his top university and take an English class.
