c/s scar - should i be worried?

first c/s so i don't know if this is expected:

i'm almost 4 weeks PP and my scar is oozing in one spot (clear fluid) and bleeding in another - very very lightly, but nontheless it's leaving little spots on my underwear where it touches the scar.  is this normal or should i be worried?

Re: c/s scar - should i be worried?

  • I would get checked just to be on the safe side.  I have a c/s with my son (now preggo again with #2) and fortunately didn't have any trouble.  They say any redness, pain or leaking you should head in.  Better they look at it now, then for it to get worse.  You already have enough to deal with... the scar, newborn, etc!  Good Luck!

  • I would see your doctor. It is more than likely nothing, but it is better to be safe.

  • I don't remember anything leaking from my scar. I would definitely call and get them to check it out. It sounds like it could be infected.

  • I had a red spot that started oozing a little bit of pus. Went to the dr and it was one of the disolvable staples coming out. She removed it and put me on antibiotics for a week. No more problems. I would get it checked out just to be safe.

  • I would call the OB.  I only had minor bleeding for the 1st week or two and by two weeks my incision was completely healed externally.

  • Mine incision was what my OB called weepy. It oozed some while it was healing. I called my OB because the ends of my incision actually looked open. It turned out that it was healing fine, but she used some match stick looking things to help it heal faster. She said it was nothing to worry about, but that she would much rather me call if I feel like something is wrong, than to not call and have something be amiss.

So in summary, even though it is probably nothing, I would call just in case.
