I can't find a diaper bag I like:(

Well I have found tons I like actually but they are all over $100! :(
Help me out here please :)

I'm liking Petunia Pickle bags for whatever reason. They seem to be more convenient, you can carry them as a backpack or a messanger bag which I like. And they are big enough to fit everything. The reviews seem to be pretty good, too. But there has to be something out there that's similar but maybe half price?

I'm reading that so many bags (Eddie Bauer or "typical" bags at BRU, Target etc) are such poor quality and that either the zipper or the stitching falls apart easily.

Any recs?

TIA!!!

  • try rei or an actual outdoors store. they re great quality and they make all styles of bags.

  • The design of petunia pickle bags reminds me a bit of lesportsac bags... which are only slightly cheaper than petunia pickle.  Sorry, not much help is it.  The design is like Harajuku Lovers too, which is cheaper but not technically a "diaper bag".

  • well I'm a fan of Miche purses and a few months ago they added diaper bags to their products. So of course I bought the base bag. now that I know it's a girl, I can start buying the covers I like. I'm not going to carry a baby, a diaper bag, and a purse all at once. The diaper bag will also be my purse so I like being able to accessorise. Plus they came with matching changing pads, that was icing for me. Good luck with your search, check amazon and ebay to find better prices on what you might like. also diapers.com has great prices on a lot of products.

  • I had heard good things about the Skip Hop brand diaper bags. We bought one, and it seems pretty sturdy!

  • if you know of anyone who sells thirty-one totes, i recommend the organizing utility tote. we got it for our daughter and i LOVE it already. it's only got one big compartment on the inside, which is kind of disappointing, but it's got lots of side pockets and it comes in all kinds of patterns with embroidery! (: Mine after personalization was $37, I think... and it's great that it looks nothing like a diaper bag, because when she is out of the baby stage we can use it around the house or as a beach tote, oversized purse, or however we see fit! i love it!
  • Try the skip hop diaper bag in willow.

This is my plan as well.

  • I am getting the skip hop in willow like the pp mentioned. I just love it. I didn't want anything fancy, something that does the job and still looks nice. I don't see the need for coach or anything crazy like that.

  • Love my Kalencom and they have lots of options ie backpacks, messengers, dad bags... They run about $70ish

Worked at an upscale baby specialty shop and our best sellers were PPB and Kalencom.  Love them all!

  • I use a Roots bag that is perfect to fit the things I need for an outing without being bulky. I had a diaper bag with my first and threw it out. I hated it.

We went this route as well.  They have a deal in October...if you spend $31, you get the utility tote for just $7!  (I purchased the Retro Metro bag and the utility tote)

  • I'm obsessed with the Kalencom bags...great patterns and reasonable prices. And whatever the fabric they're made of is like plastic so you can easily wipe off any dirt or spills. I wanted the PPB until I actually saw it in person...seemed heavy and a little too delicate of an exterior for me!   I'm getting the Kalencom Gypsy Paisley Cotton Candy ADORABLE!
