So, I am out of town for work through tomorrow. So far, I haven't had many cravings or MS (although mine was at night with my DS). Today the craving for Italian and only Italian would do. I pull out my Blackberry and search for Italian; there's a place .5 (yes, half a mile) away. Should be easy to find as it's on the same street, right? WRONG! I drive up the street and pull into the next shopping center, although not labeled with an address this should be it. I drive through the shopping center and nothing. I decide to stop at another (non Italian) place and read the menu... the idea repulses me. I jump back in my car and drive to the next closest shopping center and still nothing. By now I am beginning to panic. Ideas are running through my head, "I'm going to starve" "There's no way I can make it through the rest of the day without lunch." I spy a pizza place - that doesn't sound good; I WANT PASTA. I drive back to the shopping center that my training class is being held in and still... nothing. I finally decide I better settle for pizza before the hour I have given for lunch is gone. I go in and order the lunch buffet and walk to the buffet. The only pizza out is old pepperoni and some chicken pizza that makes me want to run for a bathroom. I decide to start with salad but they don't have any dressing I like so I settle for Italian dressing (I know, this really doesn't make sense). Finally, I eye the clerk behind the counter putting up new pizza. Yeah! It's a veggie and fresh pepperoni. I eat and it hits the spot. I'm a happy pregnant woman again. Wow, what an adventure. Needless to say, over two hours later I realize that I was behaving completely ridiculously and have to laugh. We can't wait for the symptoms to "know" that things are progressing but they are really so difficult when they hit.
Re: Lost it at lunch... not a proud moment
I've heard of "pregnancy brain" before, but I always thought it was a myth. And if it wasn't, that it certainly wasn't going to hit prior to 3rd tri. Yesterday I put a 12 pack of caffeine free, diet soda on the counter in the kitchen, and walked away to go to the bathroom. 2 hours later, I look into the kitchen (which I had been in at LEAST 4 times between going to the bathroom and that moment) and asked DH if he moved the soda.
He said "Yes ... 2 hours ago."
If I'm doing this NOW, at 4 weeks ... it's going to be a LONG 8 mths to go.
It happens. lol
