I'm curious about the paleo diet. I have been doing some research for a little while about it and intend to start next week. Can you tell me about your experience?
I liked the Paleo diet, however it ended up being just too restrictive for me for the long term- especially Cordain's version. In the end, I found the Primal diet (i.e. Marks Daily Apple) meshes better with my husband and I. Right now I am trying to stay Primal most of the time (because it just makes me feel better), but I will admit that I am not following it to a T right now.
I also don't really agree with either diet when it comes to beans. I think the rational for cutting them out is silly and I don't plan on ever following that part of the diet.
As I said in the other post, one of my favorite sites is www.everydaypaleo.com She wrote an excellent post at the beginning of the year listing all of her staples in her pantry and fridge:

Nut flowers are an awesome replacement for real flower and honey, maple syrup and bananas can be great for adding sweetness.
Rutabega is an awesome replacement for mashed potatos- it actually tastes better to my family!
I get most of my meat at Whole Foods- they have a great selection of grass fed beef!
Goggle cauliflower rice- you won't regret it.
I will probably never give up pasta forever, but I would like to get to a point where is an only once in a blue moon food.
I am sort of rambling...do you have any specific questions?
