PSA: Follow your MI (long, sorry)

MI = my new abbreviation for mother's intuition

 

So, let me just say that this past week has sucked.  DS was not feeling good over the weekend and was worse on Monday.  I took him to the pedi and he had a pretty bad ear infection in his left ear.  I felt like I should stay home from work with him on Tuesday to let him sleep and cuddle with his mommy.  Pedi said it's not necessary, DH said to go to work, and the babysitter said he would be fine there.  So, I went to work - hardest decision I have ever made.  I worried about him all day.  Same thing yesterday. 

 

Today, the babysitter contacted me to let me know that he is not better.  (Pedi said he should have been feeling better in 2 days).  DS had been sleeping all day and she kept checking to make sure he was breathing because he was really out.  So, I called pedi again and took him in right away.  He now has a partially healed ear infection in his left ear and is starting to get another in his right ear.  Pedi said the antibiotics are working but not as fast as they should be.  And, if it would not cause a problem, one of us should stay home with DS tomorrow so he can get as much rest as possible. 

 

So, I feel like a horrible mom.  I wish I would have just stayed home with him on Tuesday.  Maybe he would feel better already instead of having to be miserable all week.  I will follow my MI from now on.  At least he is home with me now getting some rest.

    Awww poor little guy!! I really hope he feels better.  Get lots of snuggles in tomorrow to make up for Tuesday Big Smile

    It's funny you should say this cause I feel like JT's ear infection might have gone from his left to his right even after starting the antibiotic...and he was home with me...so don't beat yourself up. It could have happened regardless. I'm sure the dr. said that just cause he knows you'll give him a little extra TLC.

    Thanks ladies.  He seems to be feeling better today.  Still pretty sleepy.  He will be home for the next 4 days, so hopefully that will be enough time to get it all out of his system.
