Anyone have any thoughts on sleep positioners? I know there was a big recall, but I haven't done a ton of research on it. My little guy is 7 weeks and I imagine I'll be moving him to his crib soon enough. I feel like the crib is this huge space and feel strange just laying him in the middle of it. I'm worried he won't feel close and comforted like he has been (he sleeps in his swing or bouncy chair right now because he loves movement.) My ideal scenario would be to have a vibrating sleep positioner. Anyone have any ideas?

They are not recommended due to suffocation risk...
I used one in the very early weeks when LO was in a bassinet right by my bedside, but being PG with #2, I am not sure if I'll use it and will definitely not use it if LO isn't right next to me.
I forgot about it, but PP mentioned the rolled up receiving blanket and we did that too.
Are you swaddling? That can give baby a sense of being held... I love the Halo Sleepsack Swaddle.
Also, when I swaddle, he's like a rolly polly and I feel like he can teeter from side to side and roll over. That seems like more of a suffocation risk than a sleep positioner in my mind.
I think I'm freaking out because when I lay him on his tummy, he can already kick and roll over on his back. So I'm worried he's going to turn from side to side and/or roll over and suffocate on his stomach. I want something on both sides to keep him on his back. Am I being crazy?
I was trying to give you a link but i dont know how to do it on my phone. I saw a post form i think yesterday or the day before with some links that give more info.
How is the drop side crib thing "silly"?

my LO was in nicu and they had a rolled up blanket as a U shape and when we got home I got a towel and rolled it up as U as well and I swaddle him. He feels all snuggle.
Eventually I will remove it. He's so tiny!!
It is totally different to use positioners in the NICU. They are hooked up to monitors and watched 24/7. At home, they are not.

Katie- I knew I'd get in trouble for that comment!
It's just my personal opinion based on my resarch... when the issues occurred with these drop side cribs it was with an old crib that had warped. Or, proper maintenance was not done to ensure the drop side was screwed in tightly. These are things that are easily avoided in my opinion. It's all things that "can happen over time...."
It's extremely sad, I am not trying to take away from the death's that occurred due to drop side cribs... I just am not sure a BAN was necessary. Perhaps better instructions on how to maintain a crib or how long you should keep a crib before purchasing a new one.
Yeah, it's not so much the snuggle factor (I know I mentioned that big space/feeling snuggly thing... ). I'll paste below what I also said. It's more that it's this big space that he can roll over in... I'm a first time mom, cut me some slack! We write in these boards to learn and ask questions. Here's what I ALSO wrote:
