mommies of +1 - baby movement

DS was a mover and shaker in the belly, but DD has been the complete opposite. Since DS is the only thing I can compare with, I've been getting so nervous if  I don't feel her all the time.

Anyone else have  active and non-active  babies...

What's the kickcount rule???

  • FTM here...but my MIL said that she felt DH all the time...then when she was pregnant with his little sister she hardly felt anything at all.  She said every appointment she went to to asked if they were sure there was a baby in there!  My philosophy on that is that my SIL is really lazy...so I think it just started in the womb. =)

  • Each baby is different, and maybe you'll feel this baby a bit more a little later. :) I am sure all is fine.

Also kickcounts - I am not sure if I really would go by this - I just made sure that the baby was active most of the time, but sometimes babies also have quiet days, totally normal. My 1st was like this, very active days and then very quiet days. My 2nd seems to be really active all the time. If you're ever concerned though, just call your OB.

Thanks! It's so stinking cute - DS can't say "Capri," so he calls her Poppy! His own little nickname for his baby sister!

  • This is my first baby, but this one seems have active days and quiet days too. I was worried at first, but think it's just normal for this LO. Like Monday-Wednesday this week it was rolling all over the places, then today, I still feel movement here and there but it's more subdued almost. The subdued time will last a few days normally, and then it's back to moving a lot.

    Is this what you're experiencing?

  • I am a FTM and I feel very little movement or kicks. I do have some but I can go a day or two without feeling anything. My mom was the same way. She really did not feel us move. I have a brother and a sister. I worry at times about it, but in the end I just might not have as much feeling down there. Good Luck.

You don't have to worry about Kick counts until week 28..

     a great guide!

    That is a good guide.

Though some high risk pregnancies start kick counts at 24-26 weeks. I started mine today.

  • DS wasn't a big kicker or mover ... and he was the most laid back little baby!

This one seems more active so far, I'm a little anxious to see what we may be in for when he/she is born. :)
