My free prime has ended after the initial year. I was really hoping they would extend it through the holidays. I don't really want to pay $79 for the year, but I am going to miss it so much. Oh Amazon, you're breaking my heart.

My Amazon Mom ended today too! Getting that email was a horrible way to start the day! However, I heard that you can sign up again using a different email address and get it again, even if you're using the same shipping address. I'm going to try tonight.

I need to look into this, but perhaps it ended altogether for Amazon Mom? I got the same email today and believe that I had a few months left. It seems an odd coincidence that all 3 of us would get the email today. Either way, they are going to lose money on me now. I was totally using it for impulse buys

Husbands can be Amazon Mom's too :-)

After my membership with Amazon Mom, I signed up DH. I would order everything off his account but it got on my nerves because he saw everything that I was buying and then asked me about it. So then I got an email from Money Saving Mom about how you can "Share" Amazon Prime with another person. This link explains. So, I logged into DH's Amazon Mom account and "Shared it" with myself. Now I get all of the prime benefits on my account as well.

Once we get to the point that we actually have to buy Amazon prime, I'm going to try to find a friend to split the costs with since you can share it with one other person. That way, it would only be $40 per year each.

And now the DD is out of diapers, we really don't order much baby stuff anymore, so even if I signed DH up, I don't know how many months of free Prime we'd get.

I love Kendra's idea of splitting it with a friend. Good to know!

FYI - If anyone has a .edu email address, students get Prime free for a year too! DH is back in school part time so we signed up. I was starting to really hate that he saw every purchase I made though, so thanks VTkendra for the heads up on sharing the membership! I'm going to do that ASAP.

Mine ends on December 17th, so hopefully it gets us through all of our last minute gift purchases!

I think we're going to suck it up and just get Prime when it runs out. We don't ever buy baby things anymore since DD is CDed and DS is PTed. We DO however, buy lots of other stuff.

I did this . . . we signed up with DH's e-mail and now have eight more free months (so far).

mine ended on the 8th...we bit the bullet and paid for a membership, we use it so much and since we dropped netflix we are planning on using it for the streaming, and still save us much more than what we paid for netflix. we didnt go the .edu acct because i was lazy and didnt want to set up a new amazon acct...haha

I just checked and luckily mine doesn't run out till December 6th. Maybe it will give me motivation to finish my Christmas shopping early.

Yes! I did this, too. All you need is an email address that ends in .edu. The great thing about the student version is that Amazon will allow you to renew at half price after the free year runs out. So I got a free year with my student membership, and now I'm only paying $39 for my second year. Supposedly they will give you the $39 rate for three years!

We do the subscribe and save for DS's pull-ups. Every month that we receive a shipment extends our Prime membership. I'm good through the end of January.

I think mine is good through December but I fully intend on signing up again through DH's account when mine expires. I may bite the bullet and pay for it after his year is up unless I can find a way to get a .edu email because that sounds like the sweetest deal of all!

I anticipated it ending soon so I opened a new account with a different email address, it was super easy. I also got that email today too
