I have often heard that there is a relationship between how fast/slow the baby's heart rate is and gender (typically, faster is a girl, slower is a boy). Just curious to know what you are having and what your LO's heart rates have been....at my last two appts, my LO's heart rate has been 162, and this morning it was 152. Can't remember where my DD's was several years ago!!

For me, the OWT was true..LO heartbeat was always around 150, and it's a girl :]

LO's HB was around 167 at 8 and 11 weeks and was 150 at the a/s. We're having a boy.

DD was in the 160's and DS this time around has been in the 140's to 150's. Plus With DD I carried really high, DS I am caring very low. so looks like I hit it with two OWT's lol.

That's not true, just OWT. We are having a boy and from 7 weeks until now his HB has ranged everywhere between 143 and 181.

I'm having a little boy. When I first heard the heartbeat at 11 weeks, it was between 170-180. Then it started getting a little slower. At my A/S on Monday, it was 150 and when the doctor checked it with the doppler, it was 140.

I have to say its a total wives tale and a 50/50 chance on whether the heartbeat means anything to the gender. I say this because we are having twins...one boy and one girl. The boy's heart rate at 15w4days was 142 and the girls hear rate the same day was 136. My entire pregnancy people kept telling me I was having two boys because of the heart rates. They were both in the 160s in the beginning. I think it depends on how much sugar you eat that day

I've heard this is just an OWT, but it was correct for B. (Her heart rate has been consistently in the 160's.)

It's on OWT. The baby's HB is going to be faster earlier in pregnancy & slow down later on.

DS's has gone from 168 in the beginning to about 140 now. It has been as low as 133 as well.

Our baby girl's heartrate was at 160. Prior to telling us the gender the u/s tech mentioned the OWT and it was true.

DS was always high (upper 160s/170s I think), which is supposed to mean girl. This one is lower, but actually is a girl. So it's bollo*ks, basically.

I am having a boy and at my first appt his heartrate was 174, the next appt it was 147, and at my ultrasound it was 155....so, in my opinion, there is no good way to judge.....although I tried to use the same logic to figure out my baby's gender too! Good luck!
