Legume allergy....

Is anyone familiar with this.  What are the symptoms?  My sons doctor thinks he maybe allergic to legumes because on a reaction and rash he has now after eating greenbeans and peas.

    i don't think a legume allergy has a specific reaction. I think it all depends on the severity of the allergy and the tolerance of the child.

    Legumes are in the same family as peanuts so be very careful introducing peanuts (i probably wouldn't until he gets tested)

    beans and peas allergy is actually pretty common -strangely! 

    i would go see an allergist at or around his 6 month... Depends on the allergist.. some will test on a little baby, some will not. My LO was tested at 7 months (he's allergic to milk, soy, eggs, peanuts) and for a bit he was showing some signs of a beans issue, but that might have been a coincidence.
