Hi Seattle Mommas! DH and I just relocated from the midwest with our 16 month old DS and are currently looking for a daycare in Ballard/surrounding area. Our old center was fantastic- Spanish immersion, organic homemade foods, lots of outdoor play and play centered learning, age range of 6 weeks to 3 years in his class of about 20 (1 to 4 teacher/child ratio). We'd love to find something similar or at least somewhere that is wonderful in it's own way. Any suggestions?
Also, if anyone lives in that area, we'd love to meet some new families to hang out with!
TIA!
Re: New to Seattle- daycare help?
Welcome to Seattle!
There are some playgroups on meetup.com for Seattle. I just joined the Seattle Mom's Group for Fremont--it is for moms in Fremont and surrounding areas--Wallingford, Queen Anne, Green Lake, and Ballard. And I joined Twirl Cafe Knitting Moms--there have Knit n Play at Twirl Cafe--I like the meetups that are on Saturday--my son really liked playing in the upstairs room.
There is a Seattle Bumpies Facebook group. There is a Ladies Night event coming up in Belltown on October 13th, and then there is a Seattle Bumpies Halloween Party in Shoreline on October 29th. I will be at both events, and my son will be dressing up as a dragon for the Halloween Party.
My son attends a daycare in Queen Anne. I was not sure if this would be an area that you would consider.
