Hi everyone!
I am getting all sorts of advice as to when I should be calling daycare providers for openings. I'm being told I should start looking now, but when I call providers they tell me it's too early and they won't know their availability for Spring 2012. I'm due 3/10/12...today is 10/11/11. Just curious, I don't want to miss out on an opening because I procrastinated. Thanks!!
Re: When is the ideal time to start looking for daycare providers?
I would definitely start calling places now and at worst you will have to call them again in a few months. You can also get information about the places to narrow down your list. I've worked at several preschools and most of them did tours when women were 6-ish months pregnant, but if you really like a place that doesn't have an opening for the Spring, you'll want to get on a wait list ASAP in case any kids leave.
