XP: Anyone with a 6+ month LO who refuses to eat any solids?

My DD won't take any of it. We've tried cereals and even did a ripe banana today, hoping the sweetness would entice her into eating. But no. She purses her lips tightly, sticks her tongue out, cries, screams and makes it impossible to actually feed her.

I'm trying not to push her, as I feel she'll come around when she's ready and milk is still her primary source of nutrition.I've tried putting a little food on my clean finger and feeding that to her...doesn't work either.

Any thoughts, suggestions or similar experiences shared would be appreciated.

Just wait. Some babies aren't ready to eat until 7-9 months or even a year, and that's all completely normal. Keep trying once a week or so and she'll let you know when it's interesting to her.

My LO isn't ready yet, so we aren't doing any. I'm pretty sure if I tried, he wouldn't be too hot on the idea. He isn't completely sitting up on his own yet, and doesn't have the ability to get his toys into his mouth very well. Both are listed by the AAP as being the key readiness factors. Add in the deal that our little guy was a late preemie, so my pedi advised waiting until 7 months.
