I know I didnt have them for my first c-section but I read in a journal somewhere they a small segment of hospitals are starting to use them for c-sec mommas in the first 24hrs. after birth- anyone use them?
I am going to mention it to my doc tomorrow but just curious if this was catching on- or if i should just go an buy them myself...
Re: ? about compression stockings
I had something like this after my c/s, which I assumed was standard, but maybe not?

Yep! This is what I had! I just thought it was common practice throughout any hospitals, but maybe not? I know even after I had my gallbladder out I had to wear them because of the risk of DVT after any surgery...OP I would ask your OB about them for sure though.
They had them on me for about 15 hours. They help prevent blood clots. Trust me, you do not want to have to deal with clots. I had complications after my c-section and was in the hospital for almost a month. I developed clots on my arm from a PICC line and then a small one on my leg since I was in bed so much. I'm unable to breastfeed because of the medication I'm on for the clots(coumadin) I'll be on it until sometime in Dec...longer if I still have clots then.
