My mom took a spill with LO

So I get a call from my mom this morning saying that she was carrying DD and stepping over a child gate and tripped and fell while holding her. She said she cried at first she was afraid but seems fine. She is not sure she hit her head even she kind of fell and hit her side protecting the baby. Of course I am freaking out. I told her to watch her and if she acts odd to call me and I would take her in right away, but she played normally and happily for several hours then went down for nap. I called the pedi to ask if I need to bring her in but I have not heard from them yet. I am just so anxious the waiting is horrible. I really just want to leave work now and go and hold her. I know kids are resilient, but it is hard when it is your 6mo old little girl! Has this ever happened to anyone?

I haven't had this exact experience, but when DS was 3 months old, he fell out of his swing when he was with SIL. The drop is easily 3 feet (it's the biggest baby swing I have ever seen) and of course, he cried. She told me about it two hours later when I stopped by to feed him over lunch. He was perfectly fine by that time, pupils even, happy to see me. I didn't take him into the pedi and he's none the worse for wear.
That said, if you're concerned, then you did the right thing by calling your doctor to she what they say. I hope you hear back soon with reassuring news.
