LSAT Accommodations

I love how the LSAT (law school admission test) is so accommodating to BFing/EPing women. Here are a few links about this topic. They will not be given extra break time to pump nor a proper place to pump. (My friend pumped on the bathroom floor in her one 15 minute break)

I already told them what I think and so have a few others. I have yet to see a comment on this though.

Re: LSAT Accommodations

  • I'm trying to get accommodations for the CPA exam as well, but I'm still waiting to hear back from my state's board of accountancy.  I'm not expecting them to approve my request, since right now there are no breaks whatsoever during each exam section.  The only good thing is that I can take each section on a different day.

  • The test is only 4 hours long.  I go that long and longer regularly.

  • Yeah, but the closest testing center is an hour away, and with getting there 30 minutes early, it's a possible 6.5 hours that I'd be away from home.  I don't imagine that I'll need the entire time for the test, so hopefully it won't be that bad.  I won't die if I can't get a break, but it'd certainly be more comfortable if I could.  I figured it couldn't hurt to ask.

  • Are you taking all 4 sections in the same testing window? I never did more than 1 in each window- that means it took about a year, but I would at least spread it out and do only two per window. No need to make it harder than it is. Also, when I took it, you could have as many breaks as you wanted, but the clock for the test didn't pause when you left. Fwiw I never needed the full time, and was always given my seat ahead of the time I registered for, so showing up 30 min early meant starting the test 20 min before scheduled. You might want to pump in the parking lot before you go in and when you come out, that way the longest you'd have to go is 4.5 hrs.

Actually the person they are talking about is me.  This is the reality

    1. Breast pumps are not allowed at the test site at all without special permssion from general counsel

    2. You must report at 8 AM after reporting you are not allowed to use the restroom (to keep people from storing answers etc) until the break

    3. You don't leave until 2:30-3:00

That means you have to go without pumping for 7 hours there is no way around it period!  I'd like to see you go 7 hours with only 15 minutes to pee, eat, drink, and pump.

The test may be only 4 hours but you have to get there about 2 hours before the test even begins and have to wait after it ends totalling around 7 hours at the test site with no bathroom breaks during the 2 hour waiting period at the beginning or end.  LSAC protocol

omg that's awful! 4hrs is one thing, but 7?!? That can be hazardous to your health! I am so going on FB now to call them out. What can be done about this?

Wonderful idea, don't know why I didn't think about that!  And no, definitely not all the sections in one testing window!  I'm going to try to do two in one window, one each month (one at the beginning of the window, and one near the end).   I doubt I'd need the whole test time, I'm usually a pretty quick test taker, so that should help.
