I had staples - they were kind of uncomfortable, but not that bad. It felt weird when I would move and they would pull a little bit, plus it's just weird to have a bunch of staples down there. Anything touching the area was very irritating. I don't know if they are more uncomfortable than other methods, though. I was kind of paranoid about my clothes getting caught in them, but the only thing that ever stuck was the mesh undies they gave me at the hospital.
Whichever method, you'll definitely want to have things to wear that don't touch the incision.
I had the Dermabond with my first, and it was very bumpy and raised. With my second I had staples. I healed so much better with them. I can't even see my scar a few months after my C/S. I will be telling my OB to use staples again.
I had staples with my 1st section and dermabond with my second. I honestly preferred the staples. My incision looked much better the first time (not that it looks bad now).
I had dissolvable stitches (my OB hates staples!) It was great since I have a fear of staples although I've never had them. My incision healed quickly and my scar is tiny!

I had staples and only kept them for three days. My scar is fairly light now and from what the nurses said, it looked like I had a tummy tuck scar. I know other methods may be less painful, but that's subjective, IMHO. It's the skill of the OB and your body's ability to heal that determines who well a method works.

I had staples and glue. I would prefer the staples. The glue reopened 3 times. Admittedly I way over did it the second time around. I wish I had rested more. Please rest! That is my advice. I don't know how much the suture matters, if you don't rest and let your body heal.

I was stitched on the inside and glued on the outside. No complaints, though I have nothing to compare it to. Like PPs said, I'm thankful there was nothing that had to be removed (like staples).

I had the dissolvable stitches as well. Healing is to be determined, but at 9 days out I feel great.
I just started a new post of the same subject. I did not see this post....
My doc is allowing me to choose which one I want and I am having a hard time deciding. I had staples with DD. My skin started shrinking and my skin started ripping where the staple was. I also hurt when they were taken out about 4 or 5 days later.

Me too. I also have no comparison, but it was nice to not have anything to remove later. I had no issues with my incision either.
I had staples and I'm guessing I'll have staples again this time since it's the same hospital and same doctor.
I had no issues! My recovery wasn't bad at all, actually.
I had a big fear of staples but my OB kept telling me that he is great with them and things would heal much better
Man, was he ever right! They gave me no problems, came out in a week and I can't even really tell I have a scar.

this - my scar looks great and the removal was easy, I had it done 1 week after my delivery.
Same!!!
this. my scar looks like a little line just above my pubic hair and I love it.
