I am having my second c/s in two weeks and have forgotten how long I will be restricted from driving, lifting (I have a 2.5 year old DD), and going upstairs. I will of course ask my doctor on Friday but thought you girls might know too. TIA!
Well, with my last c/s I was discharged by the doctor in my practice that hates me so she told me 6 weeks for driving. My discharge papers said 2 to 3 weeks. I drove after 2 weeks. As far as lifting goes, I had a long conversation with my regular OB. He said that they will advise 6 weeks, including my then 2 year old. BUT he said he knows that oat realistic. He said about 2 weeks pp, I could start lifting DS off of a bed or couch. He said to start slowly and if it caused any pain to stop. I wad picking DS normally by 3ish weeks. The only real restriction he gave me was not getting DS in or out of the crib for 4 weeks. It wasn't an issue for me because Jack wasn't in a crib anymore.
I wasn't giving restrictions on stairs or driving. I did stairs as soon as I got home and started driving around two weeks. I was told not to lift anything heavier than the baby for six weeks.
DD born 10/10/07 * DS born 11/25/11 * #3 due 3/9/2015
Lifting the baby only for 2 weeks. Never restrictions for stairs. Driving for 2 weeks as well but I think that has to do a lot with pain meds and reaction time.

I drove after 2 weeks because I was still on a small amount of pain meds. I was lifting Lucas right away and he was the heaviest thing I lifted for awhile. I didn't do stairs until about a week and a half (including the days I was in the hospital).
I was released to drive once I was off pain medications and could sit and stand comfortably (which happened before I was released from the hospital). I was told not to lift anything heavier than the baby in his carseat for two weeks. No stair restrictions.
Re: driving and lifting restrictions
I didn't have a restriction for stairs - is that common? I went up and down a lot, too.
Lifting and driving were for 2 weeks - lifting was 20lb limit.
This exactly.
