DS's 2nd birthday is coming up & I've been stressed for a while about his cake & how to make it more "normal" for him. He is definitely starting to notice what others are eating, especially if it is different from his. Anyways, I made a WONDERFUL discovery this past weekend that I just had to share here! So, we went out & bought a cake pop maker because every time he saw it on tv he would scream "yummy yummy" & sign "please" like crazy! We bought a cake mix from "the cravings place" & made cake pops. They were a HUGE hit & I've seriously never seen him so excited about food. That particular cake mix is top 8 free & the only allergy warning is corn. You add your own sweetener to it, so you can do whatever your child tolerates. I was super excited about it, so I thought you gals probably would be too!

Re: I'm actually excited to make DS's b-day "cake"
that's great.. can you share what cake pop maker you purchased? and what was the mix?
my son's birthday is in 2 weeks!!!!!!!!!!! i can't even believe it and we're having 2 small family parties.. one for the in-laws and one for my fam.. they are both very small but both families hate each other so we do everything separate (shoot me!).
Cake pops sound like a fun thing to do ;0)
