Scotch guard alternatives

Does anyone have anything they use to protect fabrics?  I just recovered a glider rocker (picture in profile) and wanted to spray it.  My mom actually gave me a can of scotch guard, and I tried it--but it was not colorfast.  Any ideas?

    Not that I know of, unfortunately. Scotch Guard is pretty persistent stuff.

    Thanks. That's why I ended up buying the can of Scotch guard--because I couldn't find anything else and thought it was a high-use item and deserved it. 

    Booo for non-colorfastness.
