C-sections

C Section in the morning

I am having a repeat C section tomorrow morning and I can't think of must haves.  Help!  It has only been 3 years since DD was born and I've been in the hospital nearly 5 weeks.  You would think my list would have been made already.  It is m 4th time on the schedule during my hospital stay but we can't wait any longer (35 weeks tomorrow) due to low fluid and a few other things.  My nurse asked if I had all my stuff ready and I was like oh crap (nicely put).

What clothes must I have DH bring up?  I have a couple of sundresses here and nursing tanks but no bottoms for the tank.  I can't remember if I could wear pants or not.

Thanks!

Re: C Section in the morning

  • After my c-section I wore loose fitting pajama pants, gaucho pants and yoga pants a little later.  I brought in some nightgowns from home.  LEt me see what else

High waisted underwear that will go over your incision

Possibly a Boppy to help you hold the baby when BFing ( if you choose to do so)

  • I brought my own light and comfortable robe.  It helped tremendously with nursing and when it came to the going to the restroom. It was also helpful for the hospital staff to do their assessments and such.  I didn't wear actual clothes (yoga pants and a comfy shirt) until the day we went home.

  • I wore the hospital gown the first day (day of the surgery).  After that I changed into tanks/ pj bottoms (higher waisted) or nightgowns.  I had a robe for when visitors came by or for when I was walking in the hallway.  I wore the clothes I wore in to the hospital on the day of surgery for my clothes to wear home (since my surgeries have always been in the early AM I was only in the clothes for maybe an hour before I had to change at the hospital).  Nursing/ sports bras and old panties too... and that's all I needed for myself clothing-wise.
