Two Under 2

Is your older LO still riding in the stroller?

Lately my DD is all about walking with me and is NOT happy to be in the stroller.  She does just fine with holding my hand while we walk, but of course it takes approximately FOREVER to do anything when she's not riding.

Just wondering if our double stroller days are numbered?  I was really hoping to use it for a lot longer, but pretty much the only meltdowns lately are centered around buckling DD into the stroller.  And some days?  It's just not worth that war.

  • Yes i fight that battle too but I find that it works best if I don't let her out of the stroller.  Once out she does not want to go back in.  So if we go to the mall she goes right in it and we do not go to the play area until everything else is done because she won't get back in.

She likes to sit at Gymboree and watch the TV but nope she has to do it from her stroller because I will not fight the battle to get her back in there.

  • DD1 LOVES to ride in her stroller. Maybe it's because we don't use it that often (she rides her tricycle to the park and daycare, so the stroller rarely comes out)

  • I usually entice him back in with a snack. Sometimes I require it, like if we are walking through a parking lot and I'm by myself.

  • We have the same battle, I just keep her in the stroller when we go places unless DH is with me. She usually only picks that battle when she knows Daddy is with us.
  • Yes.  I don't give a choice if I am with both kids.  too much to handle.  If she is alone with me sometimes I don't make her get into it.

  • Yes, she is, but she only just turned 2.  I have been trying to have her walk alongside the stroller for short stretches just for practice, but then she usually wants to be held.  Which is hard to do while also pushing a double, so back in she goes.  My plan, when we get to this point, is to either get a Buggy Board for our current stroller, or get a Sit n' Stand or something similar, so she can stand and ride.

  • My oldest will still ride in the stroller. If I'm out with them alone, I put them in the stroller from the start and leave them there because I have a runner ;-) If we're out as a family and DH is there to help then we'll let them walk and put DC2 up front (I have the Phil & Teds) and then DC1 can sit in the bottom seat if they want to and its easy for them to get in and out of.
