I just run mine through hot water and wash it out as good as possible and then stick the parts in the fridge (along with the expressed milk). When I get home I clean my pump parts a lot more thoroughly and steam them.
I just put the parts in a ziplock bag and put them in the fridge since any breast milk left on them will be fine if it's in the fridge.
If I forget to bring a ziplock bag (happened twice now), I use the Medela wipes. I'd rather not deal with parts that haven't dried yet (if I washed them with soap & water) so I make it as simple as possible for myself.
I only pump once at work, but I rinse them out and then give them a good washing when I get home. I do have the wipes in my pump bag and they work great for times when I am not able to wash between sessions, like when traveling.
I rinse them with soap and warm water then wash them better at the end of the day. This may be a really dumb question but why is it bad if the parts are wet?
I don't even rinse mine, I just put them in a cooler bag (ironically, the formula cooler they gave me at the hospital!) with an icepack and leave it in the pumping room. (My pumped milk goes in the cooler bag that came with my pump.) So much easier than dragging that stuff back and forth all over the office all day.
When I get home from work I stick it all in the fridge, take it out to pump one more time before bed, and then it all goes in the dishwasher. I have 3 sets of parts, so I just pack a new set in the morning and run the dishwasher every 3 days.
IdigDirt - some of the parts can be wet and its no biggie, but if any of the parts that dont touch milk normally get wet it can cause the pump to lose suction. All pumps are different, but I know with my freestyle that if any part of the casing inside where the membrane is are wet, I lose suction big time. But I don't take the horns/membranes apart between uses since I don't clean between uses, so its not an issue for me.
I only clean them after my last pump at work so I don't have to deal with it at home. I use soap and water, and I have a cotton diaper/burp cloth in my pump bag to dry parts.
ETA: Between pumps though I keep them in the fridge with the milk.

I do the same.

This. If the fridge is full of lunches I stick them in the cooler part of my PIS with a few ice packs.
