What do you think of Sienna Rose Smith? It is the only name thus far that my husband and I agree on, but I am still on the fence. I am ultra sensitive to nn and I am not sure how I feel about SiSi as a nickname. Thoughts?

Re: thoughts on girls names
Sienna doesn't have a natural nickname.
And I know this is totally shocking to first-time parents, but I promise, you're going to come up with a ton of nicknames ranging from legit to silly after that baby is born. You don't need to pre-meditate one now.
Sienna Rose is nice, though I'm a little bugged by the whole "color+noun" combo (it's like you're naming her "brown rose.").
I agree with this. I think people stress too much about nicknames. Our DD's (Renee) nicknames are Renee-B-Cakes and Sh*tty Kitty (we obviously won't call her this forever, but she makes angry cat like noises when she's fussy). Neither of them are legit, but things happen to where she developed a nn. And if you don't want her to be called SiSi, correct people if they try to call her that. My name is Nicole, and I've never been called Nikki because my parents called me Nicole and corrected people.
I'm not a fan of Sienna. It just doesn't sit well with me.
I feel the same about Naomi which most of this board loves so....
love is for every her, love is for every him, love is for everyone
I think it's pretty!
