Baby Names

Boy Oh Boy!

Okay so we have one boy and now can not think of a name for our second.  We have a Benjamin Ryan.

I like Everett and Parker.  My Husband likes Dane.  I can't come up with any other names I like. Why does number 2 have to be so hard? Anything that pops at you that goes with any of these names.

Re: Boy Oh Boy!

  • Here are some suggestions based on Benjamin, Everett and Parker

Preston, Walker, Porter, Oliver, Noah, Henry, Spencer, Duncan, Lincoln, Samuel, Jacob, Simon, Owen, Harrison, Clayton, Caleb, Matthew, Andrew, Davis, Wesley, Michael, Nathanial, Thomas, Elijah, Wilson, Aaron, Isaac, Marshall, Mason

The only thing I see conflicting with your son's name and your new picks is that the new picks are actually coming up as "unisex." Benjamin is such a wonderful masculine name (as well as traditional/classic), and I think it should be paired with something as strongly masculine.

  • I love Dane!  That is my husbands name and I just think it is so cute!  Unique but not totally out there.  I also think Samuel goes well with Benjamin.
  • The names that come to mind to go with Benjamin are Daniel, Eric, and William.

I just read a blip from your blog...can I just say that I think having my dog is harder half of the time then having a child.  Seriously.  Keeping you in my thoughts!

On the names, thanks. I'm having a real hard time because there was no question with the name Benjamin. Knowing that they have to live with it I don't want to go with something that is a fad. If that makes sense.

  • I love your son's name :).

I really live Everett.  Dane is okay and I really don't care for Parker.

If I had to pick a name that "goes with" Benjamin it would probably be something like William or Andrew or Matthew (all names I love).  But I definitely think Everett sounds good with Benjamin too :)

My DD has an ultra-conservative name (Katherine) and my son has a more "trendy" name (Connor) and I don't think that it really is a huge deal.  We were considering William for DS but decided against it because of Prince William and Kate.  Thank goodness too because they announced their engagement about a week after my son was born! ha!
