Babies: 6 - 9 Months

Baby ::sobs:: Is Growing Up ::sobs:: Too Fast! ::sobs::

Yesterday was a big day for us. LO had her first tooth break through and she went from cooing to babbling all in one day. I feel like she grew up overnight!

I thought she had been teething for quite some time because of all the drool but everyone kept telling me that I would feel the teeth coming long before they popped up. I never did feel them even though she likes to bite my hand, so I was quite surprised to see one.

LO also started to babble yesterday saying "dada". She sounded so grown up! My DH is just loving the fact that her first babbling is dada but I keep reminding him that she has no clue what it means.

While it is exciting to see her reach these new stages and it is so cute so hear her babble, it makes me sad. I am trying to savor every moment with her but this time still goes by way to fast! It makes me shudder when people say "I bet you can't wait until (insert milestone here)". My response is always "no, I can wait. It is going to happen too soon anyway". It always catches people off guard, like I should be in this huge hurry for my baby to grow up. Anyone else not in a hurry?

  • This is exactly me.. I'm trying to live in the moment and cherish everything with DD .. It really does go by so fast and I am saddened by that. I'm dreading going back to work in 6 months :(

  • Yes! I am the same way. Nora has been thisclose to crawling for about 4 weeks now, and everyone keeps asking me if I'm trying to encourage her by putting her favorite toys just out of her reach. Um, heck NO! She's already growing way too fast. She'll figure out how to crawl any day now. I don't plan to put her on the fast track if I don't need to!

  • Yeah, I feel the same. I mean, yes, it's nice to see them reach milestones and discover new things... But I'm not in a hurry for her to start growing up. I'll admit though, the one thing I was in a hurry for was for her to sit up. She was kinda colicky in her earlier months and it always seems like the colicky babies get so much better when they can sit up on their own. But now that she can do that, I'm not in a hurry for anything else lol.
