J moved from 2 naps to one nap a day at about 12 months. He used to take a 2-3 hour nap in the earlier part of the day and then a 1 hour nap at the end of the day.
Now he takes a 3-4 hour nap in the afternoon and that's it
Izzy's daycare automatically transitions them to 1 nap a day at 12 months when they move to what they call the Transition Room. I think that is too young. On the weekends Isabelle will easily take 2, sometimes 3 naps a day. During the week because of that one nap, Izzy is very cranky in the evenings. I also have to get them up extremely early (6:15am) on weekdays which I think contributes to her being more tired on weekdays.
I think Sophia was the same until about 15 months old. She started to slowly be able to handle being up all those morning hours without a nap in between wake up and lunch.

My son still takes 2 naps at daycare (he's at an in-home daycare) but at home he's fighting nap time. How did you make the change? Thanks!!!
Oh and her daycare made the change just by keeping her up and busy all day. I would say if he naps well at daycare - if it ain't broke don't try to fix it. But at home on the weekends just keep him busy all day then give him his bottle or sippy of milk after lunch and put him right down for his nap around noon.

Big E transitioned to 1 nap at around 15 months on his own. I didn't really have to do anything to make it happen. He just started to last longer and not be as fussy in the mornings so ended up falling asleep at around noon.
Little E was forced to transition like Izzy in daycare. He has adapted quit well except for the fact that he is very tired when 6 pm rolls around.
Is he only fighting nap time at home? Are you following the same schedule as in daycare?

Thanks for your responses! I try to follow the same schedule on the weekends but it doesn't always go as planned. He sleeps great at daycare. At home he'll sleep from 11 to 1 and then eat lunch with minimal morning fussiness. He starts to freak out around 6ish on the weekend. I'm going to try to move his nap to noon this weekend and feed him lunch beforehand. Maybe that will help his afternoon fussiness.
He normally goes to bed around 7:30 and sleeps until 7the next morning. I think it would screw his nighttime schedule if he took a late afternoon nap or went to bed earlier.
I'll let you girls know how it goes and if I need anymore advice.
