thoughts on piercings for moms

so i really want to get my lip pierced and DH thinks I am beyond nuts- he thinks its childish and some other things- but I really dont see it as an issue...I dont think because I'm a mom I also loose who I am...

I'm curious what you ladies think...I asked what he thought about tattoos and he was like, "you can hide that"..what's the point of that?

I could always re-pierce my eyebrow-

so would you or do you give the side eye to mom's who are facially decorated?

Re: thoughts on piercings for moms

  • Ehh, I think more like your husband.  I guess it is nothing I would pick for myself, but I have friends that used to have facial piercings - although they got rid of them once out of college due to jobs (which to me also reinforces it being a teenage type of thing).

  • Is this one of your crisis moments? Wink I would just worry that one of the boys could accidentally pull it or something. Maybe go for the eyebrow again and then see if you're still craving a change.

  • Side eye... just bein' honest.

and I used to LOVE piercings (had my navel x2, tongue and nose)

  • It wouldn't really bother me, to each their own.  But like Two said, I'd be worried about one of the kiddos pulling at it.  Ouch!

  • Probably side eye this one, but I tend to be conservative about those things. Always saw piercings as something teenagers and college kids do.

This. I have my nose pierced, and had my belly button at another, slightly thinner but still not worthy of showing my belly off time, and had 11 holes in my ears. I really enjoyed the piercings I had. Now the only thing I still have in is my nose, and mostly because I physically cannot get it out.

  • I'd give the side eye.  I feel like piercings are more for younger kids.
  • I agree with your DH on this one.  Piercings like that just make me think of teenagers that are trying to make a statement.  I can maybe see a tiny little stud in the nose, but not something like lip or eyebrow.  Personally I also would think it's strange to kiss my baby's soft little face with a piece of metal in my lip.
  • I am not a fan of facial piercings at all.  That is just me.  I won't wear earrings b/c as soon as I put them in sophia pulls at them.  Plus both kids have pulled at my face at some point. I thikn a lip ring would get pulled out.

  • I completely agree with what everyone else said.  I also would take into consideration that my DH didn't want me to.  I would be livid if he wanted a tattoo or something and I didn't want it, then he did it anyway.  I would think it goes both ways, he would be the one looking at it everyday.
