We have (I think) narrowed it down to 3 boy names. I like each, but also have a hang up about each one. Wanted some outside opinions. What do you think about these and any reason why you do or don't like any of them?
Quinton
Kyptin
Riley
My hang ups- I am concerned about how Quinton will be pronounced ie if it will be pronounced quin-ton versus when it is said fast it almost sounds like quinnon. I also don't like Quin as a nickname.
I like Kyptin- but husband is +/- on nickname Kip and I don't know if it will be spelled right
Riley- we like but it is really popular and is actually more popular for girls at this point than boys. I don't know if I really want my son to always be assumed to be a girl when his name is on lists etc.
What are your thoughts?
Re: last few weeks need to finalize name- what do you think
Quniton looks misspelled, I haven't the faintest idea how to pronounce it. Did you mean Quinton? I can cay that. Quinn-tonn. After your LO is here Quinn as a nn may grow on you (it's 500x better than Kip), if it doesn't then don't call him Quinn. When he's older you won't have a choice what his friends call him, they can call him Q-tip and you won't have a say. Big whoop, that's life.
Kyptin must be a pharmaceutical or a disease. This is really bad. I don't know how to pronounce it and I can't stand seeing the letters k y p and t together. So ugly.
Riley is a girls name, it will never go back. It's nms for either sex.

I like Riley the best.
Quinton is okay. I like Quentin a lot more.
Kyptin is horrid.
I have a few questions for you:
Quniton=why are you spelling this name wrong?
Riley: do you really think this is an appropriate name for a middle aged man?
Kyptin: why do you hate your unborn child?
My furchildren, Dorothy and Johnny
This. It looks like you fixed your spelling error on Quinton in the OP, so I think it's your best bet. But I much prefer Quentin.
Obviously I am partial to Quinton. We have never had it pronounced wrong, spelled wrong a lot when he was first born, but not a big deal. I also don't mind the nn Quinn, but everybody still calls him Quinton so far.
I also really like Riley, it is still on our name list. I think it works for a boy or a girl.

Prefer Quinton out of the 3, but MUCH prefer Quentin. A guy I knew growing up was named Quentin and went by Q, which I always thought was a cool nn.
Kyptin is awful. Really. Not just made-up looking, but the random y makes it look like a girls' name. How about Crispin if you want to go down that road?
Riley is more of a girls' name at this point. It's also too trendy for my taste.
I like this spelling much better!
