Oscar Mayer makes a (regular, not turkey) bacon sans nitrates. Super yummy and no nitrates to worry about. Their nitrate-free hot dogs are awesome, too.
OP, I personally have been eating turkey bacon hot in moderation.
And so can canteloupes. And lettuce. Are you going to avoid fruits and vegetables too?
Exactly.
Seriously, I get the listeria threat. I understand nitrates should be avoided, but getting paranoid about everything is going to make you crazy. You're pregnant for a long time...look at packages and avoid nitrates. Boom, done.

Uh yeah, this.
Mmmmmmmm that sounds so good.
And that is . .. why exactly? There are plenty of places that will tell you that nitrates should be avoided during pregnancy, and some that will tell you that smoked or cured meats of any kind can be contaminated with Listeria. https://www.babycenter.com/406_is-it-safe-to-eat-cured-or-smoked-foods-while-im-pregnant_1246924.bc; https://www.ivillage.com/nitrate-consumption-during-pregnancy/6-n-145864. You can make what ever decision you choose for yourself, but given that, I'm not sure why you're implying that its somehow unreasonable of OP to pose the question.
