I am stumped, my mom, sister and 2 SILs are throwing mine...they're all completely different. I have no idea, I thought maybe lotions, or candles or chocolates. Any ideas?
Married my best friend 5/2/2008
TTC our first miracle since November 2010

I usually go for either useful, edible, or floral. I'm not one for knick-knacks or decorations or that kind of thing. and who knows if you'll like the same scents in lotions etc.
for my shower with my first baby I sent a nice arrangement of flowers.
sort of similar, for wedding party gifts we got coffee table books that were in a subject that we knew each person was interested in and for my MOH who wouldn't have liked that we got a heart rate monitor. weird gift for the context, but she loves it!! and that's what counts!!
My mom is hosting and I'm taking her to get a hot stone massage/pedicure. The shower is being held at my aunts house so for her I was gonna do something floral and kind of funky (she's into that kind of stuff lol)... or maybe an edible arrangement.

I would usually do food, but my hostess' sons have severe food allergies and I don't want to risk bringing something into her house that might cause problems.
So my two options right now are either a nice basket from Bath & Body Works or a gift card for a massage/facial.
My best friend and my aunt are hosting my shower. I am getting them spafinder.com gift certificates. They live almost 2 hours apart so a gift certificate to a specific spa wouldn't be possible. This way, they can each pick their own spa.
My MIL and MH's highschool friend is hosting mine.
My girls are getting their gifts. They wanted to get my MIL a grandmothers necklace with all the grandchildren's birthstones and then MH's friend is getting a gift card from Pottery Barn. (She just moved into a new house so my girls thought she would really like some new things for her home )
2 girlfriends and my mom are throwing mine. One GF is getting a spa GC, the other is getting the same thing or a bauble from Tiffanys (she loves Tiffanys). I think I'll get my mom a Tory Burch tote.

Hostess gift?!?! I didn't know I was supposed to do that! Glad I found out before the shower, that would have been embarrasing
I had never heard of the whole "hostess gift" thing before coming to TB. I certianly didn't recieve anything from my friend for hosting her shower. Maybe it's a regional thing?
My sisters are hosting one shower and my mom the other. I think I'll take them out to dinner as a thank you but that's it. Money is tight enough as it is, and I'm buying a few things for the shower my sisters are hosting so they're not getting a gift. It's not that I'm ungreatful, I just won't have the money for it.

My sister is hosting mine. So far I've only bought her this necklace, but I'll get her some other fun, cute things too...

Well now that is adorable! I may just steal
I have never heard of this before - I have hosted many showers (bridal and baby) and never received (nor expected to receive) a gift in return.
