Sleeping all day for month old? Too much?

My DD has had some pretty good alert time the last couple of days...the day before last she was awake a LOT of the day.  Yesterday she was awake for a few hours throughout the day.. Well today, she has been sleeping ALL day!  I have had to wake her to feed her, she falls asleep quickly while feeding..she has spit up quite a bit today (she's on zantac) and hasn't seemed very happy - crying during sleep a bit (random cries), and just seems uncomfortable.  Is this normal - all this sleeping?  I'm worried about what our night is going to bring, but I have tried to keep her awake and she has yawned so much and just falls right back to sleep. 

Is this strange for a month old?

    I recently asked the same question about my 2 month old and didn't get any responses, so I'm curious to know as well.  My DD has alert days and then goes into crying for hours on end in the evening, but then after 2 or 3 days of this behaviour, she'll go 24 to 36 hours where all she does is sleep.  I also had to wake her to feed, and she just falls right back asleep again afterwards (or even during).  I was also worried that she wouldn't sleep at night because she slept all day, but she continued to sleep until about 8 am the following morning.

    Oh my goodness, we need to become friends...that's exactly my DD.  The last 2 days have been very alert - with crying spurts at night.  Maybe she's just exhausted from all that work!  We'll see how our night goes...
