Hit 2nd tri, starting to feel real!

I consider 13 weeks 3 days the 33% mark, so I'm officially in my 2nd trimester now. After having a MC before each of my LO's I really was thinking I'd be writing a sad "I'm leaving" post so I've been hanging back from getting to excited. (And from getting to attached to you ladies who I've come to like anyway from lurking after my intro a while back). But now I'm starting to relax and enjoy the fact that we'll have a new LO this spring. Anyone else PGAL feeling/felt like this?

Re: Hit 2nd tri, starting to feel real!

  • I'm not sure what exactly PGAL means, but I've lost 4 (early) and I was a combination of so happy because I just knew this was my baby this time and so scared that it would happen again. I just hit 14 weeks today.

The fear is still there, but it's so much less than it used to be. Congrats on hitting the 2nd Tri and good luck with your pregnancy!!! No more scares for any of us!!!

  • PGAL= Pregnant after loss

I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one who felt terrified! I am so excited and still a little in shock that we get to keep this one. I call him/her our super spawn because of the sticking and it we got it on the first cycle!

Thanks. I figured from the context it was something like that, but I couldn't figure out what it stood for exactly.

  • You are so not alone. I have had 4 losses and I never thought I would be where I am today.  I am still scared everyday, but I am starting to relax and feel comfortable with the fact that this might actually happen this time. I just try to remember that today I am pregnant and I love my baby.

  • One thing I think I'll do until the day this one is born is every. single. time I use the restroom I hold my breath hoping for no pink or god forbid red! A little TMI I know but I think you all know where I'm coming from!

  • Ugh!  I know what you mean.  I've had some spotting this pregnancy and it scares the crap out of me.  I'm still a bit nervous that at my appointment Monday we'll get bad news.  I know it's  a bit silly since I've been getting lab work done and my progesterone has looked good. (I had to go on supplements.)  I think the fear is something that sticks with you even after many successful pregnancies!

YES!!! ABSOLUTELY.... Every time!  I keep thinking that after a while this feeling will go away.... but not yet!! I think I will have it until I deliver as well...

This is exactly what I was going to reply with.  I think I checked up until the day I was induced with my son after my losses and probably will until I this baby (God-willing) is born in April.  I wish I knew how to get over the anxiety so I could share it will you all.  One day at a time...  I read somewhere (maybe on this board a long time ago) to repeat the mantra 'Today I'm pregnant and love my baby.' :-)

  • I had a m/c prior to this pregnancy, and then it took me 9 months of actively charting/temping/trying to get pregnant. I was SO scared, and did the same panic/check at the restroom as you... and still do. Now that i've heard the hb on the doppler at home, and have a home doppler so I can check when i'm feeling anxious... and i'm feeling the baby move so that's comforting. I won't relax until the baby is born though, and even then i'll worry for the rest of my life!
