Random tip of the day

We had visitors here this weekend - DH's old boss and his wife are in town for a meeting and spent the weekend with us.  We went out for DH's birthday last night and came home for dessert.  His wife used the bathroom and then they left to go back to their hotel...then I discovered she'd clogged the toilet.  Talk about gross and awkward.  (Did she know she did it?  Did she not realize??  I don't know...)  Anyway, I tried for a long time to unclog it with a plunger and wasn't successful.  I decided to google it, and found a tip that worked!  So, if you're ever in that awkward situation, put a little dish detergent and hot water in the bowl and let it sit for a few minutes and then plunge. 

Anyone else have a random tip to share??

    this is very good to know! Our toilet clogs a lot!

    Didn't know that! Thankfully, ours doesn't clog too often, but I know when it does, it has to be a doozy! Will have to keep this in mind.

    my random tip is if you pull on a dress and you get a deodorant stain- turn the dress (or shirt or whatever) inside out and rub the stain with the inside fabric and it goes away...

    Same issue, different solution - take a piece of foam from a coat hanger (know the dry cleaner ones with the foam??) and rub it on the deodorant and it comes right off.
