Hey I wanted to ask you about Thomas' symptoms of reflux. I am going to call the pedi today about Audrey b/c I think she might have some mild reflux going on. It's not constant but she spits up as lot and sometimes cries really bad after a feeding. She also doesn't like laying on her back at all and prefers being held upright, even the bouncy seat and RNP don't do the trick sometimes. She also nurses A LOT, like more than every 2 hours and I wonder if it's b/c it helps keep the acid down. But I'm afraid they won't do anything b/c she's gaining weight. Ugh.
Anyway, how is the RNP working out for you guys? Audrey is still spitting up and waking up every 2-3 hours....I'm tired!
Re: *Olivia Eve*
That sounds a lot like Thomas. There were so many feedings where I didn't know if he was done, because he would cry at the end of them, but he would also want to eat more. He's now on reflux medicine and I think it's helped. He still spits up, but not as often, and he doesn't cry before he spits up. I also can't remember the last time he cried really hard after a feeding.
We now put him in the RNP at night, and that plus the medicine has really helped. He's going 3-5 hours at a time in it, and he's sleeping more soundly now. I would definitely talk to your pedi about it- Thomas has been doing awesome in terms of weight gain, so ours was a little more hesitant to put him on medication, but she said that if he was uncomfortable a lot, it's a quality of life issue and she had no problem prescribing it. Good luck, I hope you get a little more sleep soon!
