UppaBaby Vista - Lindsey (wheat/gold color) will it get too dirty?

Hi,

My in-laws are buying us our stroller tonight. We chose the UppaBaby Vista but I'm torn on which color. I love the Lindsey (wheat/gold color) and I like that it's more neutral. (We are having a boy, but I'm hoping for a girl in the future). However, it is such a light color that I don't know if it's practical enough. The UppaBaby website says the fabric is removable and hand washable but that seems like a pain. I haven't heard anything about spot cleaning. The only review I've seen on amazon that talks about this color was from someone who said it did stay clean but he only had it since August. Should I go with this color I love or go for my second choice which is the Cole (slate blue color)? I like that color, but don't love it. I know it's more practical. By the way, this is our first so I'm not even really sure how dirty strollers get. I did check that when you fold it up the wheels dont touch the gold color, they touch the black fabric of the part that you store stuff underneath.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Alison

  • We have the black UBV and I love it. I also wanted something that would be good for both a boy and a girl. The only other color I considered is red. I love the Cole (blue) as well but it wasn't available at the time (Cole is my DS' name). I think you should be fine, the material is not cloth so it wipes pretty easily. If you are really concerned consider black or red, which are both gender neutral.

  • I have it in black for the same reasons.  don't want the dirt to show.  I saw someone with an orange one at the airport last year and it was FILTHY.  But not sure how often they tried to clean it.  I think the blue would show dirt too.

  • We also LOVED the Lindsey. I asked the girl at the store where we got it (a small, family owned) about the color and dirt. She said the color is beautiful but it will for sure show dirt. We ended up going with the Mica (Silver). If we were having a boy, I would have gotten the Cole.
  • We've been using our UBV (Myles - 2010's blue color) since March and other than spit up on the inside (we've wiped it away) there is no dirt/stain on it at all.  This is normal use in/out of my SUV trunk, in a snowy Upper Midwestern state.

  • The Lindsay and Mica are the exact darkness but one is a gold shade and one is silver. I know people with the Mica and it doesn't really get dirty and they spot clean it, you should be fine with the Lindsay. Plus, you could easily remove and clean it like once every few months or dry clean it at an organic cleaners.
  • The Mica color is light too. How long have you had it and has it gotten dirty looking? Thanks so much!

  • We have the red (Denny) color.  We are expecting a boy but plan to have a second baby so wanted a neurtal color.  Also, I liked that the red would be noticeable to cars while I was walking around the city.

  • Thanks so much everybody! I was deliberating all day & kept checking your comments & I even emailed uppababy. They said all of their strollers are stain resistant and that the vista's fabric can come off and go in the washing machine on gentle cycle. I truly loved the wheat and since no one seemed to have a terrible experience with it I went with it. Buybuybaby ended up having only one wheat one left so I was so excited to get it! They said they have been flying off the shelves ever since they discounted the 2011's by 100 dollars. So thanks again everyone!!!

  • Something else to consider is that you can purchase replacement parts of the fabric pieces (or at least you used to be able to, haven't checked recently). So, if you totally destroy the seat you can replace it for future kids. I seem to remember it was $99.

  • I just wanted to see how you like the lindsey wheat color now that you are using it. I'm in the same boat and wondering about the lightness of the color.  Any feedback is appreciated!! :)
  • Im also wanting the lindsey wheat /gold color .I was wondering the same on how it was going with choosing the wheat color?

  • Not sure if you'll get this since your post was so long ago.... how did the Lindsey work out for you? I'm looking for a gender neutral stroller and I love the Lindsey but have the same concern. And I'm concerned that the Jake (black) will be too hot in warmer months.
  • we have the silver color and I wish we would have gotten black. Get black and it will always look nice

If you get black, you can always add a fun liner to spice it up and bring in some color.

  • I have a cruz in lavender ( mauve) and the vista in Lindsey (wheat). We've used them daily for 13 months and there is no dirt at all. Love these strollers.
