Disney Dining Plan

Have you ever done this? We are doing it this time around and I am excited but want to hear about what worked well for others vs. what didn't.

Re: Disney Dining Plan

  • We've done the regular dining plan 3 times in the last 2 years (1 quick service, 1 table service, and one snack).  We only do it when we're there for more than 4 nights.  We find that when we go for less than that it's not as convenient or worth it.  We've usually share breakfast (pay for it out of pocket) or bring something to eat in the room, use a credit for lunch, and use the table service for dinner.  2 of the 3 times we've been for Food and Wine, so we use our snack credits there.   The other time we went it June so we didn't eat as much.  Hot weather and heavy food don't mix for me, so we used our snack credits to bring home fudge and chocolate covered marshmallows!  Also, we always do a character breakfast at a resort and pay for that one out of pockets since it's usually the cheapest meal and we're always one credit short.

I find the kids meals lacking.  My kid isn't old enough to have to pay for the dining plan yet but we were there in August for his first birthday and I wasn't thrilled with the selection.  Probably fine for most toddlers but not really geared for young toddlers.  Lots of chicken nuggets, pb&j, and hot dogs. You check out the menus at www.allears.net

Let me know if you have any questions.  We are Disney-holics.  My son has been at 12 weeks, 5 months, 7 months, 9 months, and 1 year so far!
