Hi, all! I am early in my pregnancy, but being pregnant means my massage therapist will no longer work on my lower back. My midwives recommended a chiropractor, because I have been having AWFUL pain around my tailbone which I just can't get rid of on my own! However, the person they recommended isn't covered by my insurance, and I'm scared to go to someone random who might end up either making things worse or harming my pregnancy (I've never been to a chiropractor but I've heard some horror stories about bad practitioners from friends). So, anyone have a chiropractor they recommend? I am desperate, my back hurts so badly! Thank you!
ETA I'm in the North end (between Seattle and Everett) so practitioners up here or in North Seattle or Bellevue would be preferable.
Re: HELP! Good chiropractor for pregnancy?
I went to Dr. Dreessen at Scriber Lake Chiropractic in Lynnwood during my pregnancy (well, also before and after). He is great.

I see someone in down town Bellevue:

During my pregnancy, I saw Dr. Sushil Vasudeva at Health Excellence Chiropractic (pretty close to Northgate). He is fabulous--easy to talk to, explains what he's doing, and makes you feel great! Also, his sister, Dr. Gita Vusudeva, is a pediatric chiropractor. I have been taking my daughter to see her since she was 5 weeks (she's almost 11 weeks now), and she has less spitting up and hiccups, and burps much easier. And, they have a massage therapist in their office, too. I can't say enough great things about them!

He really IS awesome! I hope he works his magic on you and you feel great!
He's probably a little too far north for you, but I love my chiropractor. I've been going to him for almost nine years, and he's helped me over a childhood injury, two car accidents, two pregnancies (one he was on call for because I had major back issues), my hip displasia and my prejudices against chiropractors. He has a five-year-old boy and knows all about the pregnancy pains. He has a wellness plan that my husband and I are on when our insurance runs out. I'm not sure if it would help you, but if you haven't found one you like yet, definitely give him a call. He's tall and bodybuilds, so he looks intimidating, but he's smart and all heart. And pretty funny too. He also keeps up his education. Okay, I've bragged enough...
