I moved to Seattle a year ago now and am still completely unaware of my surroundings. I'm a SAHM and DH & I don't know anyone at all in Seattle.
I'm looking for a mommy group maybe?
Or something to do with my DS who is nearly 5 months old.
I live near downtown Seattle, so I would just like any suggestions as to places to go or things to do around me!
TIA!
Re: New(-ish) to Seattle & need some suggestions!
Evergreen Hospital in Kirkland has great Parent & Baby Classes. After 3mos old they cost $$ but many SAHM's continue them...
Also, Birth and Beyond Mommy Meet-Up's "occur each Monday, Wednesday and Friday for mothers and their young children. Moms will have the chance to spend time with other local moms while their children enjoy an hour of free play. The second Wednesday of the month will be a group birthday party for any children with birthday's that fall during that month. Check the website for more details."
Time: Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays 3-4 p.m.
Ages: Mothers and babies or toddlers
Cost: Free
Posting here and finding a local "real life" friend is very common, keep posting! Welcome.
Ditto what Kris said. Also, since you're right in Seattle, definitely look into PEPS (https://peps.org/) - I loved my group and have made some great friends.
And hang around here.
Welcome to Seattle and to the board!

Welcome! There is a get together this week I believe, mamas only, and you are welcome to attend. The info is in an earlier post by BraveAngel I believe.
I don't have experience with PEPS, but I have only heard good things. I loved the parent-baby classes at Evergreen, worth the $$.
Your siggy pic is beautiful - congratulations on your son!
I've met most of my mom friends on here, and I'm actually kind of shy (but online I play an extrovert). These are some awesome ladies. I'm too far North, but I'm planning a gtg this Thursday - ladies only, and in Seattle. I'll repost so you can check it out if you're interested.
And as far as getting to know the area you're in, I highly recommend signing up for Groupon and Living Social. They're daily deal sites that, even if you don't buy anything, show you what your area has to offer. Seattle has all kinds of crazy stuff (good crazy, not scary crazy...I'm pretty sure they leave that off of the daily deal sites).
Stick around and post!

Welcome and ditto to all the good advice from the PPs.
Also, the community center pools here in Seattle offer (quite affordable) parent-baby swim "lessons" starting at 6 months, so by the time the next session starts (in December, I believe) your LO should be old enough. Most babies love the water time, and we've met some really nice local families through it.

Those were all great suggestions and I will definately look into them.
Thanks for being so helpful! I'll keep posting.
I know this is late but I wanted to let you know there is a Baby N Me class in Shoreline (just north of Seattle) too. It does cost $$ but it's an awesome program. They do baby yoga and sing songs, etc. I have a 10mo old in the next class up, but the same person directs the Baby N Me group ,and she is AWESOME! The class only meets once a week but there are other activities to take part in from educational to potlucks so its a great opportunity to meet people.
If you are interested I'm sure they will let you sit in on a class for free to see if you like it. The school is Shorenorth Coop Preschool.
