As I said in a previous post today, I went to the urgent care because of a horrible cough I've had that's been keeping me up all night. My hubby tagged along with me and decided to sign in to see a doctor too because his throat hurt. Well he ended up getting a diagnosis of Tonsilitis and put on antibiotics. I was put on the same antibiotics and cough syrup for this coughing mess I have. I was trying to decide whether or not to call in sick tomorrow and he has the nerve to say to me "I'm sicker than you." and then say that to do it if I want to , but he hopes it doesn't come back to bite me when I need the sick days with the baby. I could just scream....except my throat hurts too much for that! I'm pregnant and tired and sick and on the exact same meds as him plus a cough syrup and somehow he's "sicker" than I am. Grrrrr.....plus I got to listen to him whine to his mommy on the phone about how sick he was. He's downstairs playing video games right now, so I'm thinking he's gonna make it.
Vent over...thanks for listening.
Re: "I'm sicker than you are"....husband vent
Lady, I feel your pain!!
I *really* love Pinterest!
When I read this, I laughed a little...
I feel your pain. My hubby is for some reason under the impression that because I am pregnant, I shouldn't feel miserable or sick. Besides, men are worse than kids when they're sick.
I hope you feel better and if you don't feel up to working tomorrow, stay home. It's better for you and baby to rest. And just remember, he probably doesn't mean to come off like a jerk.
My H plays that game, too. I'll come home from work and tell him my back/hips/feet are killing me, then he has the nerve to say his back hurts more because he's been picking up/playing with DS all day... I'm not saying being a SAHD is easy, but when I've been on my feet 80% of my damn day... I think I might ache a little more.
And when he's sick, it's the end of the world. Last week he told me "Hon, I think you're going to have to take off work... I'm getting sick."
Yeah, like my work will just give me time off because H has the sniffles.
Grrrr. I've been itching to post a DH vent because he did something really stupid this morning, but I'm afraid once I start, I won't be able to stop!
It seems like ever since the morning sickness stopped, he thinks I am just fine and dandy all the time. Never asks how I am and blows me off when I fuss about something. My back hurts! My heartburn keeps me up at night! Granted I'm not throwing up, and I'm very thankful to feel better, but I'm growing a baby! I always joke that his contribution was very small to this whole baby thing
I'm still so mad at him (the short version is that he went out for breakfast with some neighbor men and didn't come home for 4 hours, even though I'd told him I was very stressed and had a ton to do. We talked at the 2 hour mark and he said he'd be home soon. I called at the 3 hour mark and he was at a bar watching football! too pissed to even talk about it)
That was awesome!
I *really* love Pinterest!
This hits home for me. In fact I read your post out loud to my husband because I have been so annoyed with him lately and I thought maybe if he heard someone else's perspective he would see his craziness.
He has been SOO sick this weekend. He threw up once on Thursday night and has not left bed since then. He called into work etc. and literally has not left our bedroom except to go to the bathroom this whole weekend.
I have hyperemesis and have been on several different medications for nausea. At my worst point I was hooked up to a constant IV flow through a PICC line, on three different nausea medications, and was still throwing up 4 times a day. During that time he said to me, "Maybe you would feel better if you just got up and tried to do something, i.e.-clean the house.
AHHHHH!!! Sorry to vent on your post but I feel your pain.
Agree! Why is it that men think that just because we aren't throwing up all the time we still don't feel like crap?
Oh lord men are such babies when they are sick or hurt! So by nature..he of course is sicker hahaha
Hope you feel better soon! Tell him your sicker then him x2.
