Girl mamas - hair tie question

K just now has enough hair for a cute little ponytail, but I can't figure out what would work best. I need something that goes on fast so she won't fight it. I have little barrettes [sp?] but they don't stay up. The soft rubberbands I found look like I'd have to thread them around forty times, and there's no way she'd stay still for that

Any tips?

Have you tried any of the bands from Claire's? They have a little girl hair section, tiny bands and clips and bows 'n such. I'm not a fan of the plain rubber bands because they get stuck in M's hair, but they have really small bands that have fabric covers that worked great when she had just a little hair.

For little pony's or the end of braids, I use the teeny tiny rubber bands at TArgst. Goodie brand I think? They are clear and the size of braces bands..if that makes sense. They hold well in super fine hair. We just started using the regular kid hair bands, but you are right..I have to wind around a dozen times and they don't even stay in very long.

At first she didn't really like them, but after about a week, she got used to it and stopped pulling them out!

I use the smallest one in these packs. They take 2-3 times around to make them fit. It is fast enough the dd doens't mind it too much!

Now, my daughter doesn't really have hair to speak of, but I was thinking that perhaps Breetini could custom-make you some smaller hair ties - you might want to contact her. Sorry I'm not more help!

Target sells these little tiny hair ties (plastic...?) that go around 2-3 times. We love, love them in our house. They've always done well with little and lots of hair. We also use alligator clips...metal w/o the rubber stuff in them.
