Quick hello, short birth story and a pip

It's been a long few days but I wanted to jump on and say hello - cluster feeding, unexpected overnight guests our first night home and feet/calves so swollen I look like an elephant have kept me occupied.

My back never got better so labor without an epi was simply not possible. Once in though, I found my experience with the epi and pitocin to be 180* opposite of that when I had M. It was amazing. I had utter control of how much or little I felt so I could stay in the zone without feeling as if I was being ripped in half. How I feel about the actual delivery itself is almost impossible to put into words - it was pretty much perfect. The topper - when it was time to push the Midwife walked in handed M a pair of gloves and said "You're going to help me deliver your sister, right?" Once N's head was clear, M and the midwife delivered her together and she clamped the cord so DH could cut it. Just amazing.

Needless to say, we're all in love with her. M held N for over an hour this morning and sang to her everytime she fussed a little. Put her back to sleep every time :)
