Cloth Diapering

CD Stash - What else do I need?

I am working on my CD registry today and I need some help with what else I need from veteran CD moms, especially for the newborn stage. I appreciate your help and input ladies!

Here's what I have right now:

  • (11) green-edge prefolds (infant size?)
  • (9) indian unbleached prefolds - infant
  • (3) blue-edge prefolds (small size?)
  • (4) Cloth-eez workhorse fitteds - newborn
  • (3) bummis newborn covers
  • (1) econobum cover
  • (1) Flipz cover
  • (1) Lil Joey
  • (5) BG All-in-Ones - small
  • (5) Fuzzibunz pockets - small
  • (3) BG 4.0 One-size
  • (2) Blueberry one-size minky pockets
  • (1) Swaddlebeez one-size econo-nappi
  • (2) Bitti-Tutto one-size

Looking at my list I think we need some more newborn pre-folds or fitteds or maybe some more Lil Joey's, but I'm not sure what else to register for. Any input you might have would be great! Thanks!

  • If you are going to be using cloth wipes, you need to get some of those and solution.  I use baby wash cloths and California Baby Diaper Area Wash.  You will want to get CD-safe detergeant and maybe diaper cream.  Also, do you have a wet bag?

  • you'll want at least 24 newborn prefolds.

a few small wetbags, a few medium wetbags.

I haven't had to use CD safe diaper cream, but CJ's is good

Fleece liners (either Bummis, which I use, or you can buy micro fleece at the fabric store and cut your own)

Are you planning to use pockets or fitteds/wool when LO gets bigger? or are you waiting to see what you like best?

I'm making my own cloth wipes out of old flannel sheets and will probably add a few of them to my registry anyway. I forgot about diaper cream, so I'll add that. I have made a few wet bags already and will probably register for one or two larger sized ones as well as some diaper pail liners.

I've already added a few more newborn prefolds to our registry and some wet bags. I will also add some fleece liners - thanks for that suggestion! I might try buying some micro fleece at the store and cut my own, but I have so many "projects" right now that I'm not sure I'll get that one completed.

We haven't decided yet if we are going to use pockets/fitteds with wool when LO gets bigger. I think we will wait to see what works best for us since we have a few pockets and AIO already. I don't want to get too many of one thing that we may or may not like, so I'm trying to be cautious there. I'm just worried that we don't have enough for our newborn stash yet!

Thanks for the input ladies. Keep it coming!

I bought 1/2 yd fleece and just cut it up into rectangles. It took 5 minutes. I would recommend trying out at least one OS fitted - I suggest Bububebe. You will also need some snappis.
