DH and I took our first trip to the baby store today and holy crap am I overwhelmed. There are so many products and choices to make! The car seat and stroller aisles did me in!
I'm off to check out reviews of the products we liked on the website Funkymonkey just shared.
Any other FTMs feeling this way?

Re: FTM feeling a bit overwhelmed!
I'm slowly shopping online and adding things to my registry. I just pick one thing and search reviews, google it, etc then decide. Today I used Lucie's List for the bouncer, swing and pack and play
So far, I've added to my registry: travel system (Chicco), carrier (Ergo), Pump, bouncer, swing, pack and play
we have plenty of time to add the small things- I'm so undecided on bedding since I know I don't need most of the pieces in the sets but I like the themes. I wish more places sold the bedding sets as separates
med-free birth x2, breastfeeding, baby wearing SAHM
My BFP Chart
Sorry to hear that you ladies are overwhelmed/stressed too but I'm glad that I'm not alone! I am feeling much better since checking out the product reviews and looking at Lucy's list. I feel so much better finding out that the products DH and I naturally gravitated towards liking happen to be the highest rated ones in most categories!
Yay.
Like most of you, we are starting with the big, gender neutral items like car seat, stroller, pack n play, monitor... thank God we are starting early because April will be here before we know it!

Same here. Mainly it's the cost of everything. I just can't get over it. I try and think of it as an investment since we plan on having at least one more child. I really want to try and buy items that are going to last and avoid as many unnecessary items as possible.
I'm glad I live in the suburbs, because in the city everyone is all about status. Couples live in tiny apartments but they just have to show off their designer strollers and baby outfits. They definitely aren't shopping at BRU!
I've taken a few trips to BRU, have been researching online, and reading baby bargains so I feel like I have an idea at least of the bigger items.
However, I went into a maternity store for the first time yesterday and was definitely panicking! Thankfully the two sales women were really helpful bc I had no idea what to try. Then all the coupons and magazines they wanted me to sign up for when I paid had me losing it again.
God, yes. I'm actually in a bit of denial that I'm going to have a baby in 6 months. I'm excited but not really taking it seriously yet. I also don't have a ton of time since I'm in grad school, which is really just an excuse, since I seem to have plenty of time for TB, ha ha. I can't stand researching things endlessly, so I think I may just send a note to my best girlfriends and ask them what their favorites were. SOMEONE has already done all this research, why should I??
