Trying to Get Pregnant

early pregnancy symptoms on and off clomid

This is my first time posting. DH and I have been trying for almost a year. I went for testing and learned that i do not ovulate on my own. I have been on 6 clomid cycles not consecutive though. My dr. didn't monitor me other then 21 day blood test. So we decided after 6 times i didn't feel comfortable doing anymore unmonitored cycles. I went to our RE for the first time Monday. He did an ultrasound to see how the clomid effected me and just to check things out. It turned out i had a mature follice and was about ovulate!! I did not take clomid this month. We were very excited and BD monday, wednesday and friday. My question is when i am on clomid after I ovulate my whole 2ww I have symptoms bloated, hot flashes, nasseous, keen sense of smell etc.. It appears i have a real in my head issue because I never get a BFP. BUT now off clomid with a mature follice I am not having any symptoms. I know that you don't usualy get symptoms this early. What i am wondering is does everyone have symptoms like that on clomid or is it your period coming on? Is it normal to feel nothing about 4dpo?

Re: early pregnancy symptoms on and off clomid

  • Nothing is happening at 4dpo so yes, it's normal to not feel anything. Some people have side effects of Clomid for the whole month, others just while they take it. Sucks that you wasted all of your Clomid cycles unmonitored.

  • I have noticed more "early pregnancy" symptoms while on clomid - tender breasts/nipples, nausea and bloating as I get closer to AF.  It's weird because I don't have any pre-O symptoms like some ladies do; just as I approach AF.

  • The symptoms you were experiencing on clomid were probably related to the higher progesterone levels the clomid produces. I have been pregnant both on and off clomid and my symptoms were the same. Good luck this month.

Me, too.  (I'm on a Clomid cycle now and at 11 dpo my boobs feel like they're going to explode.)

Totally normal even in a BFP cycle not to have symptoms at 4 dpo -- only in a rare case would implantation have happened already.  (Usually it happens at 7-10 dpo.)

  • thanks for the comments! It is nice to know others had symptoms on clomid and it wasn't all in my head:).
