gender neutral

where have you found the best store to find things gender neutral as far as clothing? I've looked at several stores and there are maybe a handful or less of things. Everything seems to be one way or the other. Our lil one wouldn't show us the goods at our a/s. I want to start shopping. I have 3 sons so I do have boy things if needed but they are the wrong season! thanks!

Re: gender neutral

  • I have run into this problem as well. A few things that have worked for me was picking outfits that have animals on them. I've also tye-dyed white onesies and altered some clothes. I have found that the "boys" section often has more gender neutral outfits. We are doing a Peter Rabbit theme so we are using light greens and yellows to work with the theme. I have found that most gender neutral outfits use these colors. Hope that helps a little!

  • I think Carter's makes a lot of cute stuff that is gender neutral. We did not find out at our a/s either due to babies' stubbornness, but since my pregnancy is high-risk we have more u/s and hope to eventually find out.

  • I wouldn't buy too much, we were team green last time (this time as well) after our son was born we were very excited to get boy outfits, it helped other people with whether he was a boy or girl, we had some newborn and 0-3, and 3-6 month outfits in yellows or greens but I definitely dressed him in more blue or brown outfits... there aren't many neutral ones wherever you go (or so was my experience), but I would keep the number to a minimum... especially if you are having a baby shower

  • Gap has a few things in gray and white that are very cute. I am planning on ordering 4-5 outfits this week because they are on sale.  I probably won't buy much more until I see what we get for our shower and baby gifts.

This is my experience as well.   I was really into ducks with DD2, so she ended up with a lot of green and yellow clothes with ducks.  I saw some really cute Carter's stuff up at the NEX (before we knew what we were having) and it was a frog theme that had green and yellow in it.

Maybe you could find a Carter's store or outlet?  When I used to live in CO, there was a Carter's outlet that was close by and had the store split into 3 sections: boys, girls and neutral.

I should mention that I'm also partial to Carter's b/c they tend to run larger (whereas Gerber runs smaller), so we get more wear out of the Carter's brand.  DD2 is running around right now in one of DD1's 18 month onesies (she's 26 months) and it fits just fine :0)

  • this is my fourth baby I most like won't be getting a shower. I just really want to find that special take home outfit! I have 3 boys now and do have boy baby clothes if it is a boy.
