Baby Names

Tia Mowrey's son, Cree, WDYT?

I'm sure this was asked before, but I am watching the show and saw that Tia Mowrey from Sister, Sister back in the day, named her son Cree Taylor.

Not sure what to think of it, but it's kind of growing on me. WDYT?

  • I would never name my son that but I actually kind of like it.

  • Could be worse!
  • I don't like the name at all but I LOVE that show!

  • Cree is okay on its own, but doesn't seem like a complete name. Taylor is dreadfully boring and totally NMS.

    I LOVED Sister, Sister. Loved.

  • Creer is the verb "to believe" in Spanish, so cree would be a conjugation of that.  That's strange to me.

  • Funny/Random story.

I used to be a nanny...I watched the same little boy from 4 months until he was about 7. When he was learning to talk, he couldn't say my name, Christy, so he would always call me Cwie (aka my screenname) or Cree. It has turned into a nickname from everyone who knows me. In fact, my family rarely calls me anything but Cwie. So that is what is makes me think of. Its definitely not a real name, it sounds like baby talk.

  • I saw her talk about it on an Access Hollywood/Insider type show that Cree means "Warrior".

Love their new show! Their laughs are infectious.

  • In a magazine article, before she announced the name, she stated that the name was Native American and meant "warrior", which seemed like a strong meaning to her and her husband. He is a cute little baby too! Taylor, I'm not a fan of, but Cree is a nice, unique name, without being too far out, IMO.

  • One of my top guilty pleasure names, but for a girl. The first time I saw it was while watching A Different World with actress Cree Summer as Winifred "Freddie" Brooks. Have loved it ever since.
  • Not to bad, but to me it looks like someone forgot to put the "d" on the end of Creed.  I guess just b/c I am not used to it.
